Patricia Outlaw

Dr. Patricia Outlaw, was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended college at Towson State University, where she also obtained a Master of Arts in School Psychology. She went on to complete a Ph.D. in Human Development at the University of Maryland, College Park. Outlaw also holds a Master’s in Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary & University as well as a Doctor of Ministry degree from Beeson Divinity School.

Outlaw is a licensed psychologist and worked for the state of Maryland until her retirement in 1997. During her career, she also served as an adjunct professor of spirituality and pastoral counseling at St. Mary’s Seminary & University as well as adjunct professor of psychology at Towson State University. After her retirement, she relocated to Birmingham, Alabama where she taught at Beeson Divinity School for 15 years. She was the first African American woman appointed to the interdenominational faculty at Beeson. She is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
